The Town Too Tough Too Die

So, I decide that I wanted to visit Tombstone && do a tourist thing there. I've never been there to just see the sights && I wondered what all the fuss was about. Why was this town the town too tough to die? A short drive from Benson later, there we were, me && my ever faithful sidekick (Chebo), pulling into Boothill Graveyard. If you've been paying attention, chebo, lisi, && I were here before for a ghost tour, however we did not go inside the actual graveyard we just looked over the fence. LAME right? Well we go inside the building && it's free to get in but it's a $2 donation to get a pamphlet that tells all they know about all the graves && the people buried there. I would love to see && experience the wild west before the west was won, if even for a day or two. So I found this picture taken in the 1920s, I believe, of the graveyard. Still now from the time period I would've liked but close enough. It still holds that charm.

Today it looks pretty similar, but head stones are cramed all over the place with clear walking paths between rows. And also the background of this old pic is missing the modern developments of our day: houses && cars driving by on the freeway.
From my trip there, I picked one picture to grace you with, it is of one the most famous headstone sayings:

Right next to the graveyard is a souvenior shop. I found an awesome purse that was "flawed" but only had one tiny little spot I couldn't see till the clerk pionted it out. I got the purse half off!! you will see a pic of me sportin it later on.
Our next stop was Allen Street. Here's how it looked it the 1880s: Awesome isn't it? We first stopped at Six Gun City, a bar && grill we have stopped at to visit our man Rockin Ron for Karaoke. We had lunch && watched a gun show!

We then walked over to the Bird Cage Theatre. Back in the day it was a very popular spot of entertainment. It's now a museum that is reportedly a hot spot for paranormal activity. So I was excited to visit. This place was jam-packed with way neat stuff. My fave by far though, was the horse-drawn herze obviously without the horse! Here's the ad they used back then:lol. Here's chebo with it:

Here's myself && my new purse with it:

I had a great time in the town too tough to die, && now I know why it's still around. Cuz of fools like me that have an interest in the old west! We didn't get to see everything we set out to see, so hopefully in the future, there is another trip to Tombstone in store for us!

A one-eyed, peg-leged, Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Melissa & I carved pumpkins one saturday afternoon. There was stars on hers, and I did a haunted castle to match the haunted castle cookie we also made. (well it came in a kit but we decorated it!) lol it looks ridiculus because it was so hot at the house that before the frosting could harden, it melted, giving our castle cookie a droopy effect. Anywayz, our pumpkins looked great, until the javalinas came and ate them a few days later!

This halloween we ventured out as pirates!
... and so did dobby!gotta love this pic, look at chebo's face.. so cute!haha, the wolfmen...

Dobby's First Bday

September 11th, along with being a sad day of remebrance, is also Dobby's birthbday! We decided to celebrate his birthday in a way one would celebrate a human's birthday, we through him a humble party! I did this cute little set-up by the back porch of my house. I made hot dogs covered in bacon, (cuz dobby is part weiner dog!) served with baked beans. In attendence were Dobby, myself, Mom, Chebo, Lisi, Roche, Kathrine & her dog Angel. Our friends Issac and Alicia also stopped by to wish dobby a happy birthday! Here's Dobby in his special birthday puppy shirt we made just for him!For desert, I made a Jerky cake with yogurt frosting and jerky sprinkles. The dogs loved it!
We may not celebrate his birthday next year, but this year I made sure he had fun! LOL. Call me crazy... cuz I am!

The Karaoke Finals!

Alright, I know, i've been slacking!

Tuesday, August 28 was the finals for the karaoke competition. The second rounders all were called up for their second judged song, mine & Lisi's was "Turn it Loose" by The Judds & Chebo's song was "The Fireman" by George Strait (that's his classic song! regulars started calling him the fireman!) Anywho, a few more people were cut out off the competion, while we all moved on to the final round. Me & Lisi burned it up with "Mi Vida Loca" & Chebo woed the crowd with another George Strait song "Love Bug". Finally, the winners were to be announced, Rockin' Ron, started with the second place winner, BUT WAIT, there was a tie for second! Chebo & a young lady named Kimber had to have a sing-off for second place! Chebo sang "What'cha gonna do with a cowboy" (i'm like you can't sing it again! but there was different judges) & kimber sang "How Do I Live". a few minutes & the judges had decided that Kimber got second & Chebo got third! He won free drinks for the rest of the night! But then, there was the revealing of the first place winner...and it was Lisi & Ayla!! the Double Barreled Aces! WOOO-HOO! We won the hundred bucks, & all we can say, is they better watch out at any other karaoke competions there are!!
The reason why i've been slacking, is the day after that I started my new job. I'm a cook at Gracies Station. Well, I don't cook much i just make salads & put together the deserts. Anywho, I haven't gotten into a grove yet but I should be back on track soon! Love Y'all!

Fastest Qualifiers!

Thursday night was the Arena Bar's first ever karaoke competition! Naturally, we all entered! Thursday night was the first round. All the entraints got judged while singing one song of their choice. There were about 15 entries, about half made it to the second round which will be taking place Tuesday night. Lisi and I were the only duet competitors and we made it to the final round with a song we regularly perfom "Guys Do it All the Time" by Mindy McCready. Chebo also made it to the final round with the song "Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy" by Chris LeDoux. So wish us luck on the final round, first place wins $100 and second place wins $50! :) :) :)

Yavapai Downs

Our journey begins 5 am, Sunday the 16th of August. We set out with two main tasks to accomplish that day: Winning the Wiener Racing Championships, & winning the Yavapai Derby.
After a hurried preparing for the day, our first stop was Tucson, to fuel up on gas for the truck and Jack In The Box for our bellies :) We cruised on all the way to Prescott, which was our destination! This is us! We can hardly contain our exctiement as our destination draws nearer!

Upon reaching the track, we discovered a sad thing indeed: we had missed the deadline to enter Dobby into the weiner dog races. Dobby was dissapointed, but he took the opportunity to take notes for next year. I loved meeting all the weiner dogs, & people just loved him! Random people wanted to pet him & take pictures of him, so he didn't mind one bit!

He particularly liked this shadey, grassy spot I let him lay in & drink water at.

These historic, fully restored starting gates were on display outside the grandstands. We just had to strike a pose!

Finally, excitement was in the air 100% as our big race finally began. We're the 4th one from the left & we were in front the whole way...

...until the 9 & the 10 horse caught up with us at the end. You cant see us that well, we're behind the 10 but before the 8 horses. This was taken about 20 yards before the finish line. We ended up 3rd!

After I hastily got me a tshirt from the gift shop (I get one from every track), we had dinner at Leff-T's steak reasturant in Dewey, and then we headed home.

Birthday Woes

Happy 24th Birthday Chebo!
August 8 was Chebo's birthday. We went to our buddy NAR-NAR's house to watch the UFC fights! YEEEHAW!!
Then we went to Denny's & got way crappy service! It took the waitress half an hour after I asked her to refill my water to actually refill it! & just as long to come ask for our orders after we said we needed a BIT more time. We even waited an hour for her to bring our ticket. We finally left without paying so I suppose we should wait a while to go back to Dennys!
Chebo said he had a great night anywayz!
This is us at karaoke! [[Chebo, Lisi, Rockin' Ron, & Me]] In two weeks there is a karaoke competition at the arena! Ron is bringin in judges from Tucson & there is some sort of prize i think! Anywho, we are all entering! Wish us luck!

Pictures from past times / weekend at the ranch

Pictures From Times Past
Finally a foot picture worth your while! It is Mine, Chebo & lisi's tradition to take a picture of our feet at a new or different place that we all are at, this was while we were goofy golfing!!! I heart it!!! :)
Me & Allysa GarciaAll night Chebo was snapping pictures of me while I wasn't looking, they turned out horrible! So I decided to give him a taste of his own poison! But I do rather feel he was posing on this one...Chebo would seriously marry this guy if they were both gay! He loves him but you know, he is a pretty cool dude! Kyle Tripp!!!Me & Chebo at one of our infamous karaoke nights! I just love this pic of us!!!
These are my two most favorite people in the world! Never a dull moment & always smiles, you guys are the greatest!! I'm soo excited to be a part of the family!!!
This Arizona summer heat isn't just torture on us humans, it's tough on the critters as well. After about an hour of running around, playing in the sun at the chicken yard, Dobby was downright tuckered and couldn't wait to get into the AC of the car. Even though he is half-chiuahua & shivers most of the time, the heat gets to him too! I've never seen him pant so hard/much!
Pictures From the Ranch
At the ranch there is a colt a few months old. He is just the cutest & most curious thing ever!
I tried to lure the young colt to me with some oats. This picture is really cool, I think.

Here is a young filly doing what she was born to do!

I tricked Chebo into riding the guard pony!

Chebo found a pygmy owl! He couldn't stop talking about it, he tought it was the coolest thing ever. I have to admit though, it is pretty cool!

Saturday night we saw Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince!!! OMG! It was WONDERFUL, AMAZING! I do believe that it is the best of the series so far. I found it to be more humourous than the others, & just like the books, darker.

Invite Ideas?

The first half of this post is mostly for my sister because other means of communication have failed due to dial-up internet and problems with my cell phone. However, everyone is welcome to indulge in it's contents.

I recently recieved a birthday party invitation from a friend. I am in love with it! i think it's adorable so I was hoping I could cowboy it up & use the same general layout for the wedding invites! So that's what I need help with, converting it to country wedding style featuring my chosen colors! And that's why I need my sister on this... she's a pro!! :) Of course, I am open to any other design(s) that anyone may come up with. Anyways, here's the front:
I'm wanting a pic of me and Chebo to be included on this, so I was thinking we could put it where the pink square that says "happy birthday 25th" is. We are planning on taking some engagement pictures soon, either while horseback riding, or in Tombstone or Old Tucson, so they can have some nice western flair! Also I found some little cowboy hat, boot, horse and horseshoe charms that may be a perfect replacement for the cupcake at the top but like I said, I'm open to ideas!! Those charms (seen at left) can be found at: http://satnspurs.com/product_info.php?products_id=205
By the way, this invite is 4.25 inches wide & 5.5 inches tall.

AND heres the back:
The back is pretty basic, I have to figure out the wording and it just needs to be westernized! Thanx for taking a look at the ideas I have and I look forward to hear what y'all think!!

This has nothing at all to do with wedding invitations, but Chebo & I went to see Public Enemies the movie based on a true story about John Dillinger (played by Johnny Depp), and other bank robbers during the Great Depression. & OMG we LOVED it, it was great but also very sad!

And also totally off the subject, I spent an hour at the pool today, & finally my legs are sportin' a barely there tan! YAY!!
